South Prairie School’s Holiday Vendor Show Fuels Senior Trip Dreams
The South Prairie School community buzzed with holiday spirit and generosity as it hosted its annual 2025 Holiday Vendor Show. This vibrant event, held on the school’s campus, served a dual purpose: raising crucial funds for the graduating class’s upcoming trip and providing a valuable platform for local artisans and businesses to connect with the community.
More than 45 diverse vendors set up shop, offering a wide array of products and services. Attendees were treated to a delightful morning that included a hearty pancake and sausage breakfast, engaging interactive entertainment strategically placed throughout the school grounds, and the melodic sounds of Christmas carols performed by the talented South Prairie Choir.

Nathan Samson, a senior at South Prairie, elaborated on the event’s financial model. “We don’t charge vendors much to come out here to show support,” he explained. “We hope they make a profit, but we charge them a little bit, and that benefits us completely.” He further detailed the various revenue streams contributing to the senior trip fund. “Over at our concessions, we have some free will breakfast – sausage and pancakes. We have face painting, that makes some more money, and just a bunch of different small activities.”
While the final destination for the senior class trip is still being determined, Samson indicated that the students are currently leaning towards an adventure out west. “He and his classmates are leaning towards a trip out west to Montana,” he shared, hinting at the exciting possibilities that await the graduating class. The success of the Holiday Vendor Show brings them one step closer to making that westward journey a reality, a testament to the strong community support and the hard work of the students.
